Ritual 3: Nurturing Moon

Day 3

Nurturing Moon

For those times when you feel depleted.

I went into this ritual today extremely open minded. There was no clear intention that I had before hand, nor did I have any expectations about it. Since I am so unfamiliar with things that are in "spell" format, I figure taking a beginner's mindset is probably the best policy.

The most important part of these rituals (for me) is that my mind and body are open to receiving information that I need to know, understand, or work through. Quite frankly, nurturing is a big topic with plenty of old wounds ready to come to the surface for healing.

As I went through this ritual, the most potent message that came through was forgiveness. You can't fully receive nurturing from other people, or from yourself without that super secret ingredient: forgiveness.

For the "ingredients" I strongly suggest getting clear quartz crystal for this, since the nurturing moon spell works best when you have tools that support clarity of the sixth and seventh chakra. Additionally, if you happen to have eclipse water or moon water on hand, I always suggest using some of the eclipse water rather than tap. Now, if you don't have any eclipse water, no biggie, just use whatever you have available. Fortunately, I have plenty of water from the Solar Eclipse in Leo that we had back in August so I'm stocked up for quite some time. The only reason I suggest this is because eclipse water will give your spell an extra boost of energy and intention that you set during the eclipse.

When it comes to the ritual itself, I did not notice any glaring transformation in my experience - this was more focused around receiving the message that forgiveness is necessary for nurturing. It's a battle we all struggle with at some point in our lives (especially for us Virgo Moon people, yikes!) Forgiveness has a significant impact on our relationships, our self image, and our connection to others - yet it is one of the most challenging things to do.

This ritual is about more than just receiving "nurturing vibes" from the moon, this is about the deep, internal work we are all put on this planet to do. Don't forget that you need to be nurtured just as much as anyone else on this planet... you're worth it.

What you need:

  • bowl of water (eclipse or moon water if you have some available)
  • clear quartz crystal
  • moonlight

  1. Place the clear quartz in the bowl of water.
  2. Before bed, go outside - ideally getting as much moonlight exposure as you can.
  3. While outside, repeat the following:
  4. "Nourish and thrive, grow and bloom, carry my gratitude to the moon. Nourish and thrive, nurture and love, shine down moonbeams from above."
  5. Envision the moon pouring the nurturing energy into the quartz, and feel the moon supporting you.

  6. Place the crystal under your pillow when you go to bed.

  7. In the morning, pour the water into the ground. *Do not pour the water down the sink or toilet, it's very important for the Earth's soil to absorb your intentions.*

  8. After you charge your crystal with this intention, you're welcome to continue sleeping with it under your pillow, or you can always recharge it or clear it for another use.

So much gratitude,

Rev. Sydney Finn
